Role – Hadoop performance tuning Engineer

Location: Milpitas(CA)

Duration : 6+ Months

Total experience 9 – 14 years



*Brief JD:*

1)      Background of a senior Hadoop developer with data transformation
design experience

2)      Performance tuning and guiding development of enterprise ETLs
residing on a MapR Hadoop Distribution.

3)      Well versed in Big Data fundamentals such as HDFS and YARN.

4)      More than a working knowledge of Hive is required with
understanding of partitioning/reducer size/block sizing/etc.

5)      Preferably, the candidate has a strong knowledge of Spark on either
Python or Scala.

6)      Knowledge of other industry ETL tools (including No SQL) such
Cassandra/Drill/Impala/etc. is a plus.

7)      The candidate should be comfortable with Unix and standard
enterprise environment tools/tech such as ftp/scp/ssh/Java/Python/etc.

8)      Proficiency in any of these utilities is plus - Utilities such as
Informatica BDE, Pentaho, Mule, Talend,

9)      Code review, performance tuning of No SQL queries ,

10)  Coordinate and review Pre-production activities

11)  Strong communication skills – verbal and written for both internal and
external relationships.

12)  Good knowledge on the concepts of Data Warehousing, Data Marts,
Dimensional Modeling, Fact and Dimensional Tables.
