Job Title : *Performance QA Tester* Location : McLean, VA Duration : 6-12 months contract Rate :Open ***IMMEDIATE NEED A CONSULATANT *** Description: Consults with client and IT management and staff throughout the project life cycle, to assist and support the design, development and implementation of effective systems. Provides guidance in the creation of standard test environments, tests plans and test scripts. Prepares and conducts acceptance testing of new or modified applications/systems. Analyzes, designs new or modified Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and standards and assists in the development and implementation of QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered application software. May modify automated testing systems for procedural or standard changes. Participate in the review of new QA software and consults with IT staff and client areas in resolving questions during the testing process. Works with client and IT management and staff to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology. Performs related duties as assigned or requested. Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems. Works under normal supervision. Follows established directions. Under limited supervision, design/develop performance test cases as per defined non-functional requirements. Develop and unit test automated test scripts using performance test tools. Conducts a wide range of system performance tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and defined nonfunctional requirements. Executes tests according to established plans and scripts; documents problems in tracking tool or similar; and retests software fixes to ensure problems are resolved. Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to enhance the effectiveness of performance test strategies. Develop/enhance performance workload distribution test models as per production transaction mix. Simulate number of concurrent users for load scenarios to determine response times and bottlenecks. Monitor resources and collect metrics during the tests in order to determine the impact of load/stress testing on the infrastructure. Identify and document bottlenecks or delays. Communicate test results and collaborate with other teams to identify issues needing more analysis and specialized expertise. Responsible for understanding requirements, developing test plans, strong knowledge in performance testing life cycle, writing test cases and executing test cases (GUI and Back End/ DB), understanding of the data models, reporting to the test manager. Communicating technical issues and needs to the tech lead and project teams skills: Critical Skills: Performance Test Tools – Load Runner and HP Performance Center Strong verbal and written communications skills Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills Ability to identify and resolve conflicts Firm knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies Very strong in performance testing life cycle and leadership skills and Solid knowledge of Performance test methodologies and tools Very strong Database and SQL background - SQL, UDB DB2 UNIX and Windows Operating Systems JAVA, J2EE, Web Logic, C, C++, Java Script, HTML and XML Certification in Performance test tools is a plus Tools: Performance Test Tools – Load Runner and HP Performance Center System Monitoring tools in Unix and Windows environment.
