Our Partner, a global trading organization in New York City, is looking to add a Developer to its team with strong SQL and SAS skills.
The right candidate will have a financial/capital markets background with top level scripting and query skills. Very good business knowledge and very good soft skills. Surveillance Developer ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Designs, develops and implements programs that support equities and options market surveillance and regulation. • Analyses requirements, and designs, develops and packages software for various deployments • Maintains and modifies existing software • Manages small projects from inception through completion • Possess a broad understanding of market structure and regulation • Conducts code reviews and promote code reuse • Diagnoses reported surveillance problems and works with operations staff to remediate production issues • Ensures adherence to established design and security standards • Works with the QC team to ensure applications integrity including development of automated test suites • Works with business analysts to ensure projects are fully documented. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Has a Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering related field, or equivalent work experience • Works independently with minimal supervision and interacts effectively with internal customers and management • Has good written and verbal communication skills • Has extensive knowledge and experience with SQL and SAS with very large data warehouse databases • Has experience in professional software development, not just data analysis. • Has practical experience with OLAP/ Analytic functions preferred. • Has experience with Unix/Linux, shell scripts and other scripting languages • Has experience in the financial services or securities industry • Handles multiple work products simultaneously Thank you & Have a wonderful day....
