Actually, GPS time does not use leap seconds. Instead of the current 16 second
offset between GPS time and UTC, there will be 17 seconds of offset on or about
July 1!
BTW, a search of the web will find a video of a GPS time receiver as the last
leap second happened. What fun.
I was thinking about what I would do with the extra second. The problem
is that as I started to think about what I would do, I spent more than
the extra second. Now I am in a quandary as to what will I have to cut
from my to do list as I have wasted more than that one gained second. Oh
