To anyone
I am getting interested in the digital side of analog. I been looking
around for equipment to do digital and found the my FT-450D already does
it...
So now - after I get the cable and have it plugged in what next?
What software to you all recommend?

I would highly suggest getting into FT-8. Use the WSJT-X software along with
GridMapper running at the same time. Frequencies are built-in so nothing to
worry about it. Any time of the day there are hundreds of folks on most bands.
It works no matter the snack or drink so it can be you
