I've added a temporary fix in BZR repo [1]. Is it possible to check if
it fixes your problem?
@fabounet: it seems that GTK+ devs want to remove icons next to buttons, menu
items, toolbars and actions. It's deprecated now but it will be removed in GTK+
4.
@fabounet: instead of 'GtkImageMenuItem', it seems we can use 'GMenu'
from GIO.

this is becoming ridiculous, now we'll have to build the menu items
manually, and also update them when the icon-theme changes ...
so I think either GMenu or our own menu is a good idea.
