I do, but it is always cleared.
I set it to last for ten years, but when I revisit the site after a
session has expired - the cookies are cleared, its not a browser
problem or setting since it happens to Opera and IE.

the cookie of a session always is deleted. you must set a cookie by
hand with setcookie

When a Cake PHP session expires, does it clear all the cookies set?
I have a login script which sets a remember me cookie and a few other
details, it stores them in a Cake PHP session when viewing the site -
but when I return to the site after the Cake PHP session has expired,
