Cambodian PM Hun Sen in Singapore for 3-day official visit

SINGAPORE : Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen is in Singapore for a 3-day
official visit from July 25-27. 2010
The Foreign Ministry said he is here at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee
Hsien Loong.
The Cambodian premier will call on President SR Nathan and meet with Prime
Minister Lee.
He will also play a game of golf with Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and meet
the Singapore business community.
The programme also includes visits to the Marina Barrage and Jurong Island.
Mr Hun Sen's delegation includes his wife and several ministers, as well as a
business group from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce. - CNA /ls
Vietnam, Singapore bolster relations
Politburo member and Party Central Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Chi received
visiting Singaporean Foreign Minister George Yeo in Hanoi on July 23.2010
Politburo member Chi congratulated the Singaporean Government and people for
their strong, quick recovery from the economic crisis.
He expressed his pleasure at the recent expansion of friendship and
multifaceted co-operation between the two countries and affirmed that Foreign
Minister Yeo’s participation at the recently ended 43rd ASEAN Ministerial
Meeting (AMM 43) contributed greatly to the success of the event.
He expressed his belief that Singapore would continue to support Vietnam in
fulfilling its role of ASEAN Chair in 2010 and thanked the Singaporean
Government and Foreign Ministry for helping with training human resources for
the Communist Party of Vietnam.
FM Yeo spoke about Singapore’s experience in national construction and
management, highlighting Singapore’s policy to boost co-operation with Vietnam,
especially in investment, trade, tourism and human resources training.
He shared his happiness at the friendship between the People’s Action Party of
Singapore and the Communist Party of Vietnam and expressed his wish that ties
between the two Parties would develop further. (VNA)

UN Passes Strong Resolution on Cambodia Human Rights Abuses
Feb. 27, 1982 : UN Commission on Human Rights meeting in Geneva adopted a
resolution condemning Vietnam’s occupation of Cambodia as a violation of
Cambodian human rights. The vote was 28 in favor, 8 against, and 5 abstentions.
5. Oct. 21, 1986 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/41/6, by
vote of 116-21 with 13 abstentions, calling for a withdrawal of Vietnamese
forces from Cambodia.
As of today,Cambodia is still occupied by the Vietnamese troops despite the
call from the US president to Vietnam to cease her occupation of Cambodia since
1988.
Cambodia needs Independence from Vietnam and the Vietnamese invaders.
Vietnam must cease her occupation of Cambodia at once.
