Le 1er juin, les députés du Parti Sam Rainsy (PSR) avaient demandé au Roi-père 
d’aborder la question frontalière avec les dirigeants vietnamiens.

Norodom Sihanouk assure ne plus faire « de politique ni de diplomatie », dans 
un message manuscrit rédigé lundi 14 juin et rendu public mardi 15 juin.

« Mon voyage et mon séjour en la glorieuse R.S. [République socialiste] du 
Viêtnam auront un caractère strictement privé, indique l’ex-souverain. C’est en 
tant qu’ancien (et fidèle) ami (compagnon d’armes) du GRP [gouvernement 
révolutionnaire provisoire] du Sud Viêtnam et de la RDVN [République 
démocratique du Viêt Nam] que le Viêtnam actuel m’invite à effectuer un séjour 
de quelques jours à Hanoi. »

« Au cours de ce séjour, je recevrai, à Hanoï, la visite cordiale de plusieurs 
hautes personnalités vietnamiennes. Le vaillant peuple vietnamien frère voudra 
également me saluer », ajoute le Roi-père.

Le voyage, prévu fin juin, a donné lieu à une polémique politique après l’envoi 
d’une lettre au Roi-père par les députés PSR lui demandant d’évoquer la 
question frontalière avec les dirigeants vietnamiens.

Le prince Sisowath Thomico avait déjà qualifié d’« inacceptable » la démarche 
des parlementaires d’opposition, indiquant que le voyage de Norodom Sihanouk 
relèverait de la « visite amicale ».

Le 27 janvier dernier, Sam Rainsy a été condamné à deux ans de prison pour 
avoir arraché des pieux frontaliers controversés dans la province de Svay 
Rieng. Il vit désormais en exil à l’étranger.

23rd Street in New York City. This special evening will be a multi-pronged 
event with two screenings offered.

Join us at 6:00 PM for the Official World Premier Red-Carpet Screening with 
limited tickets open to the public and 9:00 PM for the general public 
screening. Both screenings will be followed by a Q&A session featuring, Nobel 
Peace Prize nominee Mu Sochua, and Filmmakers Guy Jacobson and Adi Ezroni who 
both won the prestigious State Department’s Tip Report Global Hero Award for 
their work in combating human trafficking.

As a VIP guest, please join us for the VIP reception at the Cue Gallery, 
located nearby at 511 West 25th Street after the first screening. After the 
second screening, please join us for beverages in the Sva reception lobby. The 
proceeds from this event will go towards two nonprofit 501(c)(3), 
anti-trafficking organizations, RedLight Children and Restore NYC, both working 
tirelessly in the fight against human slavery.
