China Donates More than 200 Chinese Books to Cambodia

The Embassy of China here on Wednesday donated more than 200 Chinese language
books to the Confucius Institute of the Royal Academy of Cambodia.
The hand-over ceremony was held at the Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC) between
Chinese ambassador Pan Guangxue and the RAC ' s president, Khlot Thyda.
The books include Chinese dictionaries, cultures, traditions, economics,
politics, stories, sciences, poetries and so on, said Pan Guangxue.
"We hope that the books will help Cambodian students and researchers to learn
and understand broadly about China," he said.
"Besides helping Cambodia in social and economic development, China wishes to
see flourishing cooperation with Cambodia on education and culture."
Meanwhile, Khlot Thyda thanked China for both financial and technical supports
to the RAC and said the book donation was a progressive step of cooperation
between Cambodia and China on education.
"China is a country with glorious civilization and is the globe ' s second
largest economy, so the study and research on Chinese cultures and scientific
development are necessary to broaden knowledge for learners and researchers,"
she said.

Liger cubs nursed by dog in China's Xixiakou Zoo
Two liger cubs - a cross between a male lion and a female tiger - are being
nursed by a dog at a zoo in Weihai, eastern China.Four cubs were born at the
Xixiakou Wildlife Zoo earlier this month but only two survived.
The mother stopped feeding the cubs after a few days so the dog, which had
recently had its own puppies, was enlisted to help.
Ligers are extremely rare and are thought to only be born in captivity.
Zoo spokesman Cong Wen said it was not clear why the tiger had stopped feeding
her cubs, the Associated Press reports.
But she said that after some initial problems, the pair were feeding well from
their canine stepmother.
Although they are a different species, tigers and lions are able to breed
together.
Ligers are the largest known cat, usually growing much larger than either
parent.

Four factors were required to make this Republic viable and the greatest
success in the history of the world:
1. We have enjoyed a highly educated population.
2. We have a similar moral code which everyone follows.
3. We maintain a similar ethical standard for all citizens.
4. We have sustained one standard language so we can debate together and move
forward together as a people.
