Having reached the ripe old four score and a bit I am going through my
cupboards, garage etc. I just found last evening some film holders - 2
double wooden holders for 8 x 10 - a single holder 8 x 10 some wooden 5
x 7 and some modern metal 4 x 5 and 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 Also most of an 8 x 10
camera.
I can't remember which list it was on, but a few days ago someone was asking
about making their own glass plate negatives. The Arno Press Encyclopedia
of Photography, published in 1911 and reprinted by Arno in 1974 has several
relevant entries, especially at coating, dry plates and emulsion.
Before you give up on the lith film, try Windisch developer. It's a simple
catechol/sodium hydroxide developer that compensates like crazy and worked
well for me on some really high contrast copy film.

How do you operate the controls of the shutter with it behind the lens? I
just tried an Alphax on the front of a7 inch Aero Ektar and got quite a bit
of vignetting. I'd be curious about trying it on the rear. The rear
element is quite a bit smaller than the front one.
