I just received my first digest from the list after subscribing a few weeks ago. I am presently making a stereo wet plate camera and plate holder. The glass plate ends up to be 3.5 X 7 inches. I am making the camera out of plain old pine or fir from home depot and the plate holder out of Masonite. If it works well and I have the time again I will re-do it in something that looks better. As for large cameras a friend and I are building a camera and wet plate backs for what I think was called 'Royal" size in the 11800's. Do not remember off hand but 14 X 17 may be correct. I the mean time I am also building a new portable dark room and tools to do these large glass plates. So what do you folks use for dark slides and where to get them?... Is there anyone else making film or plate holders as well? Wet Plate images struck.
