well I tried building trunk using the root pom.xml & this obviously failed due to hundred different reasons mentioned in this thread. Then after manually excluding problematic areas, I was able to get up to the level of building DS & GReg products. But this cost me a full day. And this is defn

I think that in general its dangerous to have things that "cannot" be stored in the Registry. For a distributed setup we need to be able to support as much (everything?) stored in the registry.
