Yes this is an a project that Gayle has done about Slashdotting. And has
shown that Mambo surpasses out of the box very well. This test was done
with Mambo 4.5 1.0.9 Stable release. I am hoping to see results for Mambo
4.5.1 the new and upcoming release.

I agree with steven, The current site needs serious rework and
mamboserver is a pretty well designed framework in php to do the job. We
have worked with mambo for a couple of intranet portals that we built
and it works fine.
