I've been trying to reach Elipdio for quite awhile, but his email keeps
bouncing back with "mailbox full - over quota"... is he ok?

Got it up and running... for those of you interested in seeing Care2X
(Care2XMac) running under Mac OS X.
This is running on 64 bit hardware with the Mac OS X.
You can log in to it at:
http://demo.xsysweb.net/care2x/
Feel free to populate it with data.. I did a primary ward and a patient... I
It's just the way I encoded it... I could do that entire video in about 3 megs
with MPEG4 compression... not everyone has MPEG4 capability yet.
If you can, please provide the URL to the typo3 videos and i will take a look
at it.
thanks!

The Cache installations in use are licensed with the product the hospitals
purchased (ie IDX, EPIC, etc).
It would be much easier to covert AWAY from Cache... I've already done it for
several hospitals. I can pull data out of Cache like there is no tomorrow.
I recommend you talk to some of the
I have the Care2XMac demo site ready to go, however, I have not been able to
figure out how to create new user accounts. I know how to make an "employee",
but for the life of me cannot figure out what their default password is, or how
to change it.
I am trying to create a "public" account that
CACHE??? You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
Cache is an expensive proprietary database that is inferior to MySQL in every
way! How do I know? Because I developed in Cache for many, many, MANY years!
Cache costs millions for hospital implementations. Their licensing structure
totallly sucks.

I'll go ahead and disagree a tad :) Debian is a great distro, but if they have
XSERVE hardware, I think OS X is also viable.
In fact, you can have Care2X up and running in under 5 minutes under OS X... no
special configuration necessary.
They are also at 64 bit (of your hardware is G5). Altho
I just want to throw something out to the group:
Enterprise healthcare is generally dominated by a platform called MUMPS, or

the M vendors).
Coincidentally, being a healthcare programmer, I've been using and coding
Support is a major issue, I hear about it every day I bring up Care2X.
We could find developers in different regions that would be willing to
support installations.
I am in the Southwest United States, and am more than willing to support
facilities in this area. It would not be hard to get a sup
Is there a quick list of facilities using care2x?
I'm presenting it to a large organization, and it helps to give a list of
successful implementations.
thanks,

After a little bit of work I am pleased to announce the availability of
Care2XMac - Care2X built specifically for the Mac OS X platform.
Installation manuals, and full auto-installers are now available.
I'd like to thank Elpidio for the opportunity to work on this project. I
