I'm not sure about this, but I'm under the impression that fingerprint
scanning cannot be done reliably until children are about 6 years old.

Hi Matt,
personally, I see fingerprinting as one failsafe way of identifying a person
and it has advantages also in healthcare sector. It can be used in countries
or cultures where this is not a sensitive issue.
