John & I went to Ithaca this a.m.. What a gorgeous day!!!Didn't have time to do
much looking for birds but did see lots of Mallards & Black Ducks on both sides
of the lake. Found 2 female Common Mergs at Sheldrake.
Saw a great raft of Redheads on the lake, near shore, opposite Gully Rd. north
I hiked over to Stewart Park today and spent much of the morning on the ice.
In addition (or subtraction) to what's already been reported, I saw a male
RED-BREASTED MERGANSER vaguely associating with COMMON MERGANSERS west of the
red lighthouse. I missed the Northern Pintail. Maybe if I had s

Perri and I drove up to Syracuse this morning to see the YELLOW-THROATED
WARBLER on Thurber Street. It took about an hour of waiting before it
arrived, but once it did it was very cooperative, flitting between the suet
feeder, peanut feeder, sunflower seed feeder, ground feeder, and surrounding

In the SW corner of the lake this afternoon was a single male NORTHERN
PINTAIL.
Also, at dusk, there was at least one adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL
among the hundreds of gulls on the ice edge. And the two female LONG-
TAILED DUCKS were present.
