at Sapsucker Woods this afternoon (07 April), I ran into Tom Johnson, Carolyn
Sedgwick, and Jay McGowan. They kindly pointed out a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER,

Dryden Lake was pretty empty, as usual. Two American Wigeon were still
there (likely the same pair I saw there yesterday, with two Ring-necked
Ducks, a male Bufflehead, and a Pied-billed Grebe. Two days ago a single
BONAPARTE'S GULL was the only bird on the lake.

A VERY welcome sight at 9:30 a.m.. Our 1st CHIPPING SPARROW was hopping along
the edge of the back walk either gleaning bugs or looking for the little
birdseed I usually have sprinkled there for chippers & song sparrows.

While recording BROWN CREEPER in Shindagan Hollow this morning, I
heard my first of year HERMIT THRUSH singing under the balsams. This
was south, out of the basin.

Good morning (7:30 Wed am) - I just heard a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH singing in
the ravine behind our house on Hunt Hill Rd. It's always such an exciting thing
