and his SFO group saw 2 RED-NECKED GREBES and 4 COMMON TERNS from Cayuga Lake
State Park, Seneca Falls.

Thanks for sharing your sighting and your notes from the field. Based on the
notes you've shared, it sounds like this bird was a Bonaparte's Gull that
happened to be a smaller individual. Here are the things that lead me to say
this:
Little Gull (in any plumage) can be immediately
I saw a gull at Myers Point just before noon that initially struck me as
an adult LITTLE GULL. I know that one was reported yesterday and so that
makes me more inclined to think that what I saw was in fact a Little
Gull. But a couple of points made me start to doubt that identification.

There was a single, breeding plumage RED-NECKED GREBE just off the
point at Myers this morning around 6:45. Also seen were a female LONG-
TAILED DUCK, COMMON LOON, and three BONAPARTE'S GULLS, all flying
north into a brisk wind.

The Shaver's Creek Birding Cup is coming up in less than a month! The
Birding Cup, held from 7 pm April 30th to 7 pm May 1st this year, is
very much like the World Series of Birding, only set in central
Pennsylvania. It's a great way to warm up for the World Series the
next week in Cape May
