In stubble field on Mt Pleasant Road NOW (11:55 am Saturday). Large flock (I'll
upsize yesterday's estimate by double, so possibly 120 or more), actively
flying around the field.

I spent some time this evening on Hart Rd., town of Dryden, hoping for an
owl or two. Shortly after 1700, I saw an EARED OWL flying towards Hart Rd.
from the east (direction of high school). It was relatively high up and
showed the somewhat irregular, floppy flight that I've seen in short-ears.
I biked to Stewart Park this afternoon to look at gulls, and made sure I arrived before sundown this time, but found the sunshine made for extra contrast and shadow, which wasn't necessarily helpful. The lake was calm, but I missed several birds which Tim Lenz, whom I met as I was leaving, saw.
