There were four Tundra Swans at the edge of the ice, SW corner of Cayuga Lake,
late in the afternoon. The usual number lately has been three. Didn't have a
chance to count other waterfowl, but there were approximately 20 Great
Black-backed Gulls and several hundred Canada Geese, also some Redh
Susan,
I had a black vulture last week in Johnson City.
There were also a few reported in spring/summer
in the Ithaca area. This species apparently continues
to spread northward. Neat.

A couple days ago, I thought I saw a falcon fly in front of me on Pleasant
Grove Road heading west. I truely think it was a Peregrine. Keep an eye on
Bradshaw Hall. I could have made a mistake, but

Sorry Sorry Sorry. I thought sent this info to the rare bird alert, but I must
not know what am I doing. I had to rush to send off the text before my
students came into the classroom and caught me with an "illegal" device. Who
knows what I did wrong, but tonight when I finally had a chance to
Titmice singing for a couple of weeks now. It is great. And today, heard
several woodpeckers drumming. So neat to be tuned in to the seasons by the
various serenadings of our stalwart birds.

Aha, it is that time of the year! It was nice to hear a Tufted Titmouse singing
near Andrew White House of Cornell campus.

Late this morning while I was stopped at the light at Clinton St and Rt. 13
a Raven flew over Rt 13 flying basically west to east. This is the first
Raven I have seen in the down town area. Have I just been missing them? I
am curious if others have seen Ravens actually in down town.

I bet this is the same one I saw at Judd Falls the other day by the fish lab.
The first one I've seen this winter.

The TV, which I have been seeing from office window is back. It generally gets
up around this time. I think it is probably roosting somewhere in the Cornell
Plantations.
