An Osprey flying over Union Springs Academy campus about 3:00, heading toward
the lake. Hopefully "our" Union Springs nester.
A pair of N. Shovelers, a single Pied-billed Grebe, and a dozen or so
Buffleheads on the pond around 7pm.

On 30 March I vented my frustration on this site about not seeing the Common
Teal while at the same time I was rejoicing that John had gotten to see it.
Next day, 31 March, Kathy Strickland planned to swing by the refuge to again
look for the elusive bunch of colorful feathers. Lo ... she found
KESTRAL on powerline on Lansing Station Rd., near NY Rt. 34B at 2:30 pm.
Often seen there in past years.
PILIATED WOODPECKER flying over woods near there.

Yesterday while walking along Boiceville Road in Brooktondale I was treated to
an excellent view of a fairly low-flying RED-SHOULDERED HAWK circling over the
fields as it slowly made its way north. My first of the year for this species.
Also yesterday, at the Lindsay Parsons Biodiversity Preserv
Speaking of yard birds, we just recorded a hard-to-get species when a pair
of WOOD DUCKS flew very low over our yard, just above the feeders. Tick.
