Small flock of all three scoters off East Shore Park. Not much else so far.

Interesting coincidence; had about the same mix of birds [exc. House Finch
instead of purple and 1 white-throat instead of white-crown]. Without checking
the feeders, I walked out in the morning and scared a totally-unexpected flock
of 8 Eve. Grosbeaks, a species we haven't had at our house in
Hi all,
Chris Wood and I were joined by Bob McGuire and later Jeff Gerbracht at the
Myers Point lighthouse this morning. The air was clear and viewing
conditions overall were excellent.

Hello everyone,
I'm aware that CayugaBirds isn't generally used for organizing rides, but in
the wake of the most recent bird fallout over Lake Cayuga, I've decided to be
audacious. If anyone with a car was already planning to take a birdwatching
trip down to the lake after 2:30 PM today,
Clifton Springs yesterday. Sorry about that; haste makes waste...
and the 8 Evening Grosbeaks were back this morning again. Nothing else
unusual/unexpected.
Dave, Thanks for the note, though it would be useful to know your approximate
location. --Marty

Beautiful pair of Bluebirds in my back garden right now.
Which is a treat as I rarely see them due to preponderance of House
Sparrows.

On a neighborhood walk today from 1600 to 1700, I was a bit surprised to
encounter a PALM WARBLER (Eastern) in a willow clump. Also seen were 37
ROBINS heading south, and a lone E.MEADOWLARK in the field across the road.

Several people have emailed and asked us why the wildlife drive was closed.
We do not know, we went there at 1pm and the visitors center was closed and
the gate was closed on the wildlife drive. We just thought we would pass it
on in case anyone else was headed there. We imagine it was because of
Hi All, the Refuge was closed today, Tues. due to Sandy. It will reopen Wed.
Also I found a bird guide on Towpath Rd. today, at the east end of Knox by the
berm. I will leave it at the Visitors Center Wednesday morn. Chuck Gibson
