Thank you to all who sent news about hummer sightings. Last yr., I think it
was, someone reported a very late hummer in early Oct.. With such a crazy
summer it seems that some birds left early. I haven't seen a swallow for
several wks. & NONE before that, lined up by the hundreds on power lines

Well I am going to report a very neat hummingbird sighting from Saturday. I
don't go h bird feeders as I worry that I won't maintain them well. So I just

have been entertained by both adult and juvenile Yellow-bellied S
I thought mine had gone this morning, but then I saw two zipping around so I
refilled the feeder again!

I hadn't seen any in weeks, then a couple showed up. Again, I haven't seen any
in days, but I'm keeping my feeders up for those flying south and need a place
to stop.

Hi all,
I had fairly good number of birds in Mundy for the first time. I came across a
small flock , but the flock was very much dispersed among several trees.

nabbed it finally. But I could not identify the moth as t
Yesterday, while on my exercise walk along the swale next to the Cornell
Plantations parking lot, I flushed a small flock of CHIPPING SPARROWS.
This surprised me for two reasons. One, I haven't had this species at
my feeders nor seen it elsewhere for the last few weeks. The biggest
surprise,
Only one monarch all summer & now, within an hr., I've seen 6 They appear
to be darker in color than I recall so does that mean they are this summer's
hatch? All in a S-SW flight. Beautiful, thrilling, rewarding sight!
Need to go to Seneca Meadows!
