Seven of us carpooled and caravaning up to Braddock Bay Banding station and
surrounding spots. Dave Nutter was our leader, and the following are
highlights of that trip, which was yesterday 8am-4pm.

We saw a GREATER AND LESSER YELLOW LEGS in the
?After reading geo's post about Ovenbirds and thrushes in Danby area, I decided
to try my hand at recording evening chorus. Unfortunately, I did not find any
ovenbirds or Hermit thrushes.
I did find a pair of Raven's croaking, several Song Sparrows but not as
numerous as in the past, lots of A
FOY Osprey yard bird - one just flew nearby by my yard (giles st in Ithaca)
going towards Six Mile Creek. Saw others at Salt Point and Myer's earlier, and
a couple around the Ithaca area in recent days, but this is the first time this
year I've seen the one (more than one?) that frequents my ne
Laura Erickson and I took a walk around the Goetchius Preserve in Caroline this
morning.
Joining the increasing avian lineup in the wet areas were 2 Lesser Yellowlegs
and a Solitary Sandpiper.
And two Eastern Kingbirds in a hedgerow.

Hi All,
When I couldn't sleep last night I got up to read a little after three. At
about 4:15 a House Finch started singing for all its worth. I'm guessing it
was the light from the window because it stopped right after I turned off the
light in about fifteen minutes. It started up again about
I had my FOS White Crown Sparrow, female RB Grosbeak, and House Wren today. The
White Crowns usually arrive when the Serviceberry blooms. They're not quite
open yet, but close.
Now I need the Orioles , Catbirds, and Yellow Warblers to show up.

On my morning walk along the westernmost edge of the L-P Preserve, which is

Just back from a quick walk around Salt Point with Lynn Leopold. An Osprey
was present on the nest platform- the female on the nest perked up a bit
when her mate flew over and also when a grackle tried to take a stick from
just underneath her beak. Also present was a Baltimore Oriole, Eastern
Kingb
