I added four new yard birds last week and another today: the white-throated
sparrow! It was perched on a tall wooden fence and then foraging in the soil
of my garden. I live downtown near the high school and was so surprised as I've
only seen them in more of an edge of a forest.

I've kept guinea fowl for years as tick eaters, and they do a great job at
this.
Guinea fowl have the habit of ranging rather far from home (up to a quarter
of a mile or perhaps more), but they always return to their same roost at
