I sent an email to Cayugabirds regarding the about 30 Fox Sparrows I saw along
Hunt Hill, Hurd Road, Thomas Road and Synder Hill Road all together. I sent
the email three times but it did not get posted. So I am not sure what is going
on. May be I am barred from posting.
So never
Hadn't seen a fox sparrow amongst the 15 species at our feeders this weekend,
but there was one alongside Wood Rd (Etna) this afternoon.Colleen Richards

On Monday afternoon, I found 12+ WILSON’S SNIPE and 3 Killdeer in the
stream between the barns and the small pond near the end of the east-west
portion of Bluegrass Lane in Ithaca. They were mostly hard to see behind
the layers and mounds of deep snow. There could have been more.

Multiple (5+) WILSON'S SNIPE are currently on the side of the driveway and
along the edges of the little ponds at the visitors parking lot at the Lab
of Ornithology, periodically flushing and circling the building. Two
Killdeer are camped out there as well.

A quick run through rural Dryden this morning didn't turn up nearly as many
interesting birds as yesterday. I ascribe that to the difference in conditions:

The lake shore at Stewart Park is scattered end to end on Monday morning
with AMERICAN PIPITS. There are also more than a few around the parking
areas. I also saw a first-year BALD EAGLE and an OSPREY overhead, as well
as tight flocks of RING-NECKED DUCKS and BUFFLEHEADS offshore.
