Today, I drove north to Union Springs to see the reported waterfowl in the two
ponds there.
Just a moderate amount of ducks and geese were in the Mill Pond and only a few
ducks in the Factory Pond.
On the way there, from Rt. 90, I had noticed the ice edge was about opposite
Allens Point, south
When I was at Aurora looking at 2 Glaucous Gulls on Monday (pointed out to
me by Gary Kohlenberg) there were 2 Trumpeter Swans resting on the ice next
to the lake. One was tagged so I reported the number to a banding lab.
Surprisingly, I heard back from them today, telling me it was banded on
Along Lake Rd, north of Powers, then here & there in various farm fields, until
about the Cayuga Shoe Co. on Rt. 90.
Several 100s more
None in Long Point area.

Around 100-200 AMERICAN CROWS all spread out on either side of Powers Rd, off
Lake Rd. Just over county line in south Cayuga County.
