I spotted a couple of Helmeted Guinea fowl (Numida meleagris) by the side of
the road this morning. (Sweeney Road, Cortland ) I presume they are escaped or
feral. I also heard that they are useful in reducing the tick population and
also that there might be an issue with competition with nativ
I had about 5 WT sparrows (4-M + 1-F) at my feeder in Homer, FOTY.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Woodcock out the back of my house on Cosmos Hill west
of Homer at about 6pm last night (Thursday 4th). I was walking in an area
between a field and scrub, and it just shot up in from of me.
