Can anyone help?
For the second evening I have spotted about a dozen terns at Myers Park
on the little spit just to the left of the northern most pavilion. They
are mixed in with a few gulls and ducks. I can't make a positive ID. They

After reading so many exciting bird posts in the last few days, I knew I
had to go out looking for warblers this am. Right off of Lounsberry Rd
(Brooktondale) is the Brookton Cemetery which rises above rushing 6 Mile
Creek and is framed by a mature deciduous forest. High up in the maples I

One year ago today I saw my first Golden-winged Warbler at Brookton
Cemetery in Brooktondale. I returned this morning and to my delight there
he was again. Had the place all to himself this year feeding in Spruce
trees. 7:30am.

For almost 10 days, there has been a male Bobolink in a meadow in front of
my house. I would assume there is a nest in the thick of the tall grass as
his vocalizations usually get a busy response. I have yet to see or ID a
female or young. The grass is tall and quite dense so maybe this will be

Yesterday was a great day birding on Cayuga Lake. Jill Vaughan and I were
impressed by the hundreds of SNOW GEESE along the icy shore as we headed up the
hill out of Aurora just past Great Gully Farm. With the sun shining on a
vibrant blue water, they almost looked tropical.

I realize now that the reported Trumpeter Swans were most likely Tundra Swans.
