Sunday, about 10 am, East Shore park, I spotted what I thought was a pair of white-winged scoters far off shore to the north west. I noticed an oval white spot on the back of the male's head. With the help of a birder from NW Pa., I learned that they were SURF SCOTERS. There were dozens of SWA

I was able to stop by the pagota at E Shore Park - 3:30 this afternoon, all the usual Aythya suspects were present but I counted 15 white-winged scoters off by themselves. A nice dry spot for viewing gulls also.Pete Wiedmann -- Cayugabirds-L List Info:
