Hi, We usually have quite a few American Goldfinches that seem to be residents, often year-round. Today, however, our feeders were overwhelmed! At least a hundred, maybe 150, were at the feeders and settled about on the yard. When they took flight, as they occasionally did, and then returned, it looked as if many of the dandelions that dot our lawn were flying! We’ve lived in this house for 27 years and have never seen them in these numbers! It was very beautiful and very exciting!
Can anyone share thoughts about this new-to-us happening?
