Over the past few weeks, a large roost of crows has formed in the woods off
Lansingville Rd just uphill and west of my house on Salmon Creek. Mid-
morning they stream east in loose groups. But this morning, hundreds have
dropped into the cleared cornfield on Salmon Creek Rd, and the many have

I counted 4549 crows coming to the roost located primarily west of
Rt96B opposite the IC campus with some birds roosting on the east
side of 96B near the circle apartments: Sunday, 1 March, 2014. I
couldn't see if there were any birds coming from the south or west.

We are trying to do some sampling underneath the in-town Ithaca crow roost in
the next few weeks. The final resting spot seems to be a bit more mobile than
in some years, and we could use some help in keeping track of it.
