When the sun just came out, suddenly there were so many birds. This warbler
landed on the window sill while I was washing dishes! I thought I'd heard
them here, but had never seen any. Maybe not again till next winter?

Finally, a warbler! I had a beautiful male HOODED WARBLER on the south end of
Yellow Barn Rd on my way home this evening. It was singing across the road from
the shooting range at the sportsman's club.
We just finished the 6th (of 7) week of warbler ID webinars last night, and I

Heard clearly & finally got a couple good, quick looks at the male bird.

On Sunday at about noon, I heard a HOODED WARBLER loudly and persistently

This morning our small group found the Hooded Warbler on territory at CNC. It
perched in plain sight, singing, for a good five minutes, and gave us quite a
show. Also exciting were a number of Veerys strolling along the path in front
of us, giving long views but no songs, as well as male and fe

Hi,
I am not sure if anyone has reported a Hooded Warbler yet, but one
was back here on Sunday (5/1), where they have been breeding now for

Interesting. These old orchards adjoin maple forest - including one
block that we call the "sugar bush", where there's no understory to
speak of beneath the maples. Walking from the sugar bush into the
orchard you hit a wall of dense shrubbery that's nearly impenetrable
except where we mai

However, under those old apple trees is the real connection.;-)
Have also founded Hooded nesting in dense second growth - similar to Chat
