I also saw the booby (finally) late this evening from Lower Lake Road — very distant but in nice evening sun. It stayed lying down on buoy 49 for the 30 minutes I watched it, identifiable by the dark, horizontal body, contrasting white belly sometimes visible, and long pointed bill and pale face
