Late yesterday pm I had very good birding during my fast exercise walk looping around Upper Buttermilk. (I always take by binocs on these walks, Dave.) I usually try to see/hear at least 10 species. This time I set a record for this time of year with 24 species. It seems that many birds apparently decided to abort their migration due to the drizzly, overcast conditions of the night before. The highlights were: 6 woodpecker species, including YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, SWAINSON'S THRUSH, and 4 warblers - MAGNOLIA, BLACK-THROATED BLUE, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, and BLACKPOLL.
