It's a birdy morning in our backyard: a beautiful FOY wood thrush song
heard in our woods, a FOY rose-breasted grosbeak, FOY Baltimore oriole as
well as a pine siskin (not seen since mid-winter) at our feeders and
continuing purple finches and the usual visitors.

Hi All,
We had a Wood Thrush singing its heart out tonight here in the village of
Skaneateles. That is a new yard bird. Must be all the trees we have planted
make things a bit more attractive even if It is only a pit stop. On the other
hand the Red-breasted Nuthatch pair continues in our yard.
WOOD THRUSH (FOY for me) singing in woods north of lower Sweazey Rd in Lansing.
Also Yellow Rumps, Scarlet Tanager, Red-bellied Woodpecker, N. Mockingbird.
Also, ominously, surveyors at bottom of road. Part of Cornell small fruits
orchard sold or will be sold. We don’t know more.

I was surprised (and delighted) to hear a single Wood Thrush singing this
morning in the woods behind our house. This is about a week earlier than usual.

At noon on our hill I found a gorgeous male Baltimore Oriole singing in an
apple tree, and while thrilling to that I was stunned to hear right behind me
(in the spruce grove) the prolonged scolding of a Wood Thrush. (Confirmed this
with BirdTunes when I came in-- they call it pit volleys!)
Another early bird: along Station Road in West Danby, at the old
foundation on the L-P Preserve , a singing WOOD THRUSH! Quite a few
Hermit Thrushes and Blue-Headed Vireos here too.
The woods are swimming and the streams are roaring!
