Hi all,

Eric's shrike was there in the same field again today, between about 1:45 and
3:30 pm. Perching both on hay bales and in the more distance hedgerows. At one
point caught a mouse after watching from a haybale, shook it vigorously, and
eventually flew off with it presumably to cache. Fun to watch.

Subject: [cayugabirds-l] Northern Shrike in Danby

We've had a Northern Shrike hanging out in the field north west of the corner
of E Miller and Nelson Rds in Danby. We saw it yesterday and followed it for a
while without very good looks. But today it appeared as we were driving up
Nelson, it sat close to the road on a hay bale for a while while we sat in the
car staring it awe. Such a gorgeous bird!
