2pm is about when I was at upper buttermilk watching a crow chase a broadwing who after shaking the crow started circling away in the downstream direction. Could very well have been the same bird you saw. From their low flight I didn't think the broadwing was migrating. Also there was a loud Louis

On brief stops today at Mt Pleasant (11:34-11:48am) and Sandbank Rd (1:52-2:05pm) Ann Mitchell & I saw 2 migrating BROAD-WINGED HAWKS at each location. One at Sandbank was remarkably low directly overhead, and quite a treat. The others were distant, and the first at Mt Pleasant (after a mere 6

As soon as it was looking like it was shaping up to a really good migration day, things seemed to shut right down. Maybe the afternoon will prove better for others watching. Alternatively, perhaps those raptors passing through now are simply scraping the high cloud ceiling. Sincerely, Chris T-H
