IM: premreddyg Sr. Cognos BI Developer Location: Charleston, WV Duration: 2 + Years Job Description: · Build and deploy complex business intelligence solutions that meet business needs · Need to be Senior Level developer · Translate complex relational data models, business requirements, and the understanding of data usage into a business abstraction layer to meet business analytic needs · Leveraging business abstraction layers, implement Cognos frameworks that will support both short and long term business needs · Complete project analysis, design, development, and implementation deliverables · Follow development and delivery processes to ensure consistent quality results that meet all security compliance guidelines and performance standards · Collaborate and communicate effectively with business, internal teams and leadership Required Skills: · Proven ability to deliver business abstractions layer over complex data models to support analytics and reporting needs · 3 - 5 years experience in implementing enterprise-scale reporting systems using Cognos suite of BI tools · Expertise with Cognos 10, Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Dashboards, Active Reports · Experience creating and publishing packages/multidimensional models using Framework Manager from multiple data sources · Experience performing data modeling and query tuning in Cognos Suite from multiple data sources · Experience designing and developing complex report studio reports involving drill down, and master/detail queries · Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL optimization skills and OLAP tools · Ability to tune SQL queries to optimize query performance · Strong SQL development skills · Experience in working with and supporting large data warehousing implementations · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methods, architectures and technical standards · Knowledge of data warehouse concepts · Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent Preferred Skills: · Technical experience with data warehouse design · Health & Human Services Public Sector background or experience is preferred · A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in business intelligence administration and enterprise-level application and automated integration Required Skills: · Candidate should definitely have experience in one of the 2 technologies mentioned below o Must have minimum 2 years of recent experience with Cognos BI Reporting tool. Must have good understanding of SQL queries generated by Cognos and how to modify them, if needed. o Must have minimum 2 years of recent experience in Oracle and PL/SQL . This includes experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, creating and managing tables. o Knowledge about Oracle administration is a plus. · Effective verbal and written communication skills – Communication is key as we are a very small team. Preferred Skills: · Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts including dimensional data modeling Expected deliverables/responsibilities: · Test and manage data loaded into our Data Warehouse. Develop Cognos FM, reports and dashboards. Assist Deloitte Track Leads with documentation as needed. Other: · Candidate will be working as a sole developer mostly. This is not a travelling position and candidate will be required to be on project site. · Candidate will be working extensively on SQL, Oracle and Cognos. · Candidate with java skills in addition to Data Warehouse experience would be a plus.
