Taqdir,
Active means the router is listening for and accepting a TCP connection.
Connect means the router is waiting for the TCP connection to be completed.
Check out section 8.2.2. from the BGP RFC:

I was doing Vol 1 Ver11.0 IPExpert workbook i.e. the Cisco IOS
firewall LAB 34 - As mentioned in previous post -- Unable to
configure any of the zone commands so many sections of the lab are
not doeable. Online Proctor labs support suggested to seek help here

Hi Manny,
There is no error at all. I am going through the doco for gns plus
trying a few other things. The moment I get it working I will let you
know. And don't worry, my experience with Linux is minimal so I too
learn as I go.
Anyhow you should be able to install ubuntu and gns in
Vikas,
Have you opened the .NET file in notepad or wordpad and verified that you've
configured the exact same router type and IOS revision that's listed there?
If you used a different IOS revision and router type, did you edit the .NET
file to match?

in love. Well, because I was the new guy I didn't get to do a ton, I did but
not some of the more fun stuff. So now I am on the pursuit
I think the best IGP for MPLS backbone is IS-IS because it can support more
devices per area than OSPF. BGP is good but we can make confusion when deploy
BGP and MP-BGP. For less errors and more security it's better to use IS-IS.

The Ubunto is the way to go for the best cpu performance. I am pretty anti
GNS3/dynamips as I like real equipment. However, I have found that I have ran
27 routers with BGP, ospf and eigrp with a TON of traffic going on and all the
trimming and my cpu won't go above 70% sometimes a little

Hi Jeff,
That's the bit I've not yet done. Only the IOS is different but router types
are same. I'll do it and verify with you.
Thanks,
Vikas.
