Dear all,

sorry to all who are not currently looking for a PostDoc position.

Postdoctoral opportunity – Structural Biology / Protein Engineering

An ERC-funded postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Birte Höcker at
Bayreuth University, Germany. Within the project we apply structural biology,
protein engineering and computational protein design to construct new protein
motors. We are seeking a motivated personality with experience in protein
biochemistry and structural biology interested in working in an
interdisciplinary and international team. The position requires a PhD in
biochemistry, biotechnology, structural biology, or a related field. Experience
with structure determination, enzymology, computational protein design or
directed evolution are all welcome.

The overall project is in collaboration with partners from Lund University,
Sweden and UNSW in Sydney, Australia. Our own group is situated in the
biochemistry department of the University of Bayreuth. The department is
well-equipped in terms of structural biology, biophysics, and computing.
Bayreuth is a beautiful city in the north of Bavaria in between Fränkischer
Schweiz and the Fichtelgebirge with great outdoor opportunities. Interested
candidates should contact me directly for more details on the project. A full
application should include a CV, short description of prior experience,
motivation and contact details of references.
