Two years full time postdoctoral position available in the laboratory of Elisa Bergamin, PhD., at the Institute of Genetic and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, near Strasbourg, in France. We use a combination of cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, biochemistry, and other functional assays to study the molecular mechanisms of action of the mammalian SWI/SNF protein complex with special attention to newly identified subunits. We welcome highly qualified and motivated individuals with a Ph.D. training in structural biology (cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography) and/or protein biochemistry. The ideal applicant will have experience with protein crystallography and cryoEM, molecular biology, and protein complex expression and purification. Although not a strict requirement, preference will be given to candidates with experience in single particle Cryo-EM. The position might also be of interest to people with experience in other structural biology areas (crystallography, NMR, computational modelling) that are eager to learn cryo-EM. The IGBMC is a leading European research institute focused on understanding human disease and basic biological mechanisms at the molecular level. It counts several state-of-the-art technical facilities including the Titan Krios cryo electron microscope and a high throughput crystallization facility. It is a vibrant, international scientific community. Please send your application (as a single pdf document) including cover letter, brief statement of prior research experience, a one-page statement of current research goals, CV, and contact information for three references to: berga...@igbmc.fr
