As part of GCRF Global Network in Neglected Tropical Diseases, which brings
together groups from the UK, Latin America, India and Pakistan, we offer three
Junior Research Fellowships to work on protozoan parasites. The fellowships are
aimed at early-career researchers with some postdoctoral experience who want to
establish their own research supported by a mentor of the Network in Durham.
The research should align with the goals of the Network and can cober the areas
of either molecular and cellular parasitology, chemicial biology or
biochemistry and biophysics. The three-year fellowships are supported with
generous funds for travel, consumables and acces to state-of-the art equipment
in the Chemistry Department.

The identification of reliable molecular targets for drug development is known
to be challenging, with high rates of failure at the stage of validating
potential candidates.
