/Development of ultrastable fluorescent proteins for quantitative super resolution microscopy at cryogenic temperature./
The recruited student will work in the Pixel team: http://www.ibs.fr/research/research-groups/dynamics-and-kinetics-of-molecular-processes-group-m-weik/pixel/ He/she will investigate the structural photophysics of fluorescent proteins used as markers in super-resolution microscopy in conditions of cryogenic temperature. The ultimate goal will be to engineer a variant that efficiently photoactivates at such low temperature.
Candidates should have a strong background in biophysics and/or biochemistry. Preliminary experience in protein crystallography, molecular biology and/or advanced optical microscopy will be key advantages.
