My group has a postdoc position available on a large EU IMI-funded grant “EUbOPEN” to generate chemical inhibitors and PROTAC handles for E3 ubiquitin ligases to advance the field of targeted protein degradation by the ubiquitin-proteasome system. Based at the Centre for Medicines Discovery, University of Oxford, postholders will produce recombinant human Cullin-RING E3 ligases and perform biochemical and biophysical assays to assess the binding of small molecule ligands and substrates, including Kd or IC50 determination. You will also conduct crystallisation screens to obtain ligand co-structures for structure-based drug design. The role involves access to state-of-the-art facilities and significant teamwork with academic and industry partners.
