Postdoctoral Position in Structure-FunctionStudies on Ion channels

Apostdoctoral position is available in the Valiyaveetil group at
Oregon Healthand Science University in Portland, Oregon. The Valiyaveetil group
investigatesstructure and function of ion channels and transporters using a
combination of structuralbiology, spectroscopy, protein engineering and
electrophysiology.  See references [Sci Adv. 2022, 8(16):eabm8804; PNAS. 2022,
119(19):e2121653119; J MolBiol. 2021, 433(23):167296] for examples of recent
research. The group is a part of the Program in Chemical Biology in the
Departmentof Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry.

Theposition is suitable for highly motivated candidates with a
recent (less than 1year) Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physiology or a
relateddiscipline.  The candidate willinvestigate voltage gated potassium
channels using structural and functional approaches.  Expertise in membrane
protein biochemistry orin structural studies using crystallography or cryoEM is
desired.

The Valiyaveetil lab is wellequipped to carry out structural and functional
studies of ion channels andtransporters.  OHSU provides an excellentscientific
environment and world-class facilities for cryoEM.  Portland is consistently
rated as one of themost livable cities in the US.

Toapply send CV, a 1-2 page description of graduate research and
