A post-doctoral position is available for a joint project between the groups of Titia Sixma in the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Noam Zelcer in the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam.
Titia Sixma lab: http://xtal.nki.nl/Titia_group/ Noam Zelcer lab: http://www.zelcerlab.eu/labsite/Home.html The project is focused on structural studies of the Inducible Degrader of the LDLR (IDOL), an E3-ubiquitin ligase enzyme that plays an important role in regulation of cholesterol homeostasis. The structural studies will have both mechanistic and pharmaceutically relevant aspects and will be coupled to studying the physiological role of IDOL in vivo. The work will be largely conducted in the The Netherlands Cancer Institute, which has a vibrant research program with a high standard of biomedical research, excellent infrastructure and an interactive atmosphere. It is located in Amsterdam, with all its cultural amenities, and within short distance of Schiphol airport. We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher with experience in protein crystallography, molecular biology and/or biochemistry.
