Yup -- this is one of the lesser-known advantages of the RK11-C over the later
controllers. Another b

the latter doesn't implement 'Read/Write-All'.

Oooops; my bad; I mis-read the register description. It's setting 'Inhibit Bus
Address Increment' and 'Format', not 'Format' and 'Read/Write-All'. So ignore my
speculation about 'Read/Write-All' not getting the

No, 'Format' is a separate bit in the CSR from 'Read/Write-All', and they do
different things.
The RK11 always re-writes the header word of each sector when it writes a
sector in normal operation; when 'For

You'll need the RK11-C overlays (shown on pg 6-2 of the RK11-c Manual). (My set
of overlays from Guy with his KM11 replica included them; thanks Guy :-).

I have two backplanes and a diablo drive if anyone is interested.

I've had one for years but I haven't tried working on it yet.

Yup, RK11-C, and it seems complete (modulo drive cables and terminators.) I
have one debugged and running in my '11/45, so I know it well.

Interesting. It looks to have about half of the modules my old RK8
controller had, I wonder how they managed to shrink it down for a pdp11.
Was the data-break interface for the 8 that complicated?

It seems to match fairly well
It looks like it could be an RK11-C. Are you possibly thinking of the
RK11-D which fits in a BA11 chassis?
