I've reverted the guilty patch.
Reverting 0d2f7866ac676ab0f3c8ac3eabcec06f580a9d62 seems to fix the
problem (for others as well).

I tried running dtbuilder: I didn't get any bad messages, and an
initial window showed up that looked fine,
but clicking on any of the menus caused the program to immediately segfault.
